**Major Duties**


* Performs professional work in data science, artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML), system analysis, risk analysis, predictive analysis, computer simulation, program/project planning and controls, and other related areas...
* ...to solve problems encountered in the gathering, conditioning, analysis, and integration of large and heterogenous volumes of data related to defensive cyber operations, for which little or no precedent exists.
* Adapts existing or develops new methods of computation and analysis when current techniques will not provide adequate or satisfactory results in support of cybersecurity operations.
* Trains/deploys models using tools such as Python, SAS, R, Cloudera, Databricks, or other common machine learning platforms/languages, frameworks to solve cybersecurity problems.
* Documents models, methodologies, experiments, and results to demonstrate significance, repeatability, and operational risks.
* Communicates results clearly to technical and non-technical personnel through writing, code documentation, briefings, guides, and technical products.



**Qualification Summary**

To qualify for an IT Specialist (INFOSEC) your qualifications must include: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-14 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Formulates problems and develops solutions for cybersecurity operations analyst, incident responders, information system security managers, program managers, and other information Technology (IT) personnel to accommodate limitations in data, tools, business processes, compute resources, or other limitations that may impact model training and performance Provides a high level of technical expertise in data science, intelligence, artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML), systems analysis, risk analysis, predictive analysis, computer simulation, program/project planning and controls Recommends risk responses and the best alternative to current operations and responses, if they are found, and presents relevant trade off and limitations so decision makers can make informed choices or take appropriate action Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
